• Steps to Leadership Consideration:

• Attend monthly meetings on a regular basis; this is the heart of LLL

• Read the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding

• Become a La Leche League Member

• Volunteer to help with group management; we always have parent sized jobs

• After attending a series of meetings (4) and still would like to be involved, ask your Leader about next steps.

• Please do not announce to the meeting that you are training or want to become a leader. This is a liability issue. Talk to a Leader after the meeting.

Also:

• A La Leche League Leader is a parent who has had a specific type of breastfeeding and parenting experience,

• Meets the prerequisites for Leadership,

• Has completed specific reading and introspection and

• has finished the extensive written training curriculum established by LLLI.

• Leaders are volunteers and most leaders find they give approximately 5 hours per week to helping families.

 

• Active leadership includes helping mothers both by phone, email, text, and by leading meetings.
